Aurigny update – Suspension of London Gatwick Services
4th April 2020Aurigny is suspending its remaining London Gatwick services due to the lack of demand experienced since essential-only travel and a mandatory 14-day self-isolation requirement were introduced in the Bailiwick, in an effort to reduce the spread of Coronavirus.
With current daily numbers below six passengers, the Gatwick services will cease from Monday 6th April 2020, through until Sunday 31st May 2020 inclusive. Ironically, traffic at London Gatwick has reduced so much during this week with the cessation of Easyjet and BA to name just two that Aurigny had been one of the airport’s main customers.
Aurigny will also be withdrawing the weekend service between Guernsey and Southampton from Saturday 11th April until Sunday 31st May inclusive.
This leaves its remaining lifeline services through 31st May 2020 as:
GCI-SOU-GCI – Monday to Friday (and Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of April)
GR656 – Guernsey to Southampton – Departing at 12.00
GR657 – Southampton to Guernsey – Departing at 13.15
GCI-ACI-GCI – Monday to Friday
GR220 Guernsey to Alderney – 11.30 arriving at 11.50
GR221 Alderney to Guernsey – 12.15 arriving at 12.35
GR228 Guernsey to Alderney – 17.15 arriving at 17.35
GR229 Alderney to Guernsey – 17.55 arriving at 18.15
GCI-ACI-GCI – Sunday
GR228 Guernsey to Alderney – 17.15 arriving at 17.35
GR229 Alderney to Guernsey – 17.55 arriving at 18.15
Aurigny will be contacting all passengers booked on Gatwick services in the coming weeks to advise them their flights are cancelled and that Southampton is the only remaining option for travelling to/from the island.
As ever, Aurigny’s main priority is the wellbeing of its customers and staff. We would especially like to thank those staff continuing to provide a lifeline service and those working in our call centre, who have dealt with an unprecedented number of calls due to exceptional circumstances.
