Guernsey Airport looks to appoint a third party to handle passengers requiring assistance
2nd August 2019Guernsey Airport is looking to appoint a third party service provider to handle all passengers who require assistance with their journey through the Airport.
Passengers who need extra support are currently handled by the ground handling agents, but the use of a dedicated team to provide this assistance is more typical in the UK and is now seeking to be adopted at Guernsey Airport.
The successful bidder would be required to provide access equipment compatible with aircraft types that regularly operate at Guernsey Airport and to provide staff to assist passengers in their travel to and from the aircraft.
The organisation will be required to meet the needs of those requiring assistance, and tailor support to a wide range of passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility issues during the airport’s operational hours.
Head of Aviation Services at Guernsey Airport Ash Nicholas said:
“Guernsey Airport recognises the need to provide appropriate assistance for all passengers. To help improve our customer service, we are looking for a provider to help meet the expectations of passengers travelling with reduced mobility and or disability issues. By appointing a dedicated service provider we believe this will improve customer service and give timely and appropriate support for all passengers.”
