Guernsey Ports support Ports of Jersey Ltd appeal for aid for people in Caribbean
18th September 2017Guernsey Ports are supporting Ports of Jersey Ltd appeal for aid for the people in the Caribbean. Please help us by donating items to help people in the Caribbean who have been affected by the hurricanes.
A collection point has been created at Guernsey Harbours Marina Office on Albert Pier, which will be open daily between 6am and 10pm. Please check-in at the Marina Office on arrival.
They are asking islanders to give the following essential items but please note, clothes, toys and water will not be accepted.
- Water purification tablets
- Tinned food (fish, vegetables, meat)
- Rope
- Duct tape
- Plastic sheeting/tarpaulin
- Nails
- Hammers
- Wood saws
- Candles
- Metal cooking pots/containers
- Tin openers
- First aid kits
Once a sufficient amount of items has been collected, they will be shipped to St Helier, where Ports of Jersey Ltd will then make arrangements to have these transported to Guadeloupe and then transferred onto the affected regions.
