Hollywood comes to Guernsey Airport for Liberation Day 2018
8th May 2018The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or the Dakota plane used in the film the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society film is due to visit Guernsey Airport on Liberation Day <May 9th> 2018 for the first time.
The film and the book of the same name is about Juliet (Lily James), a charismatic and free-spirited writer receives a letter from a member of a mysterious literary club started in Nazi-occupied Guernsey. There she meets members of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. As their wartime secrets unfold, Juliet's growing attachment to Guernsey, the book club, and her affection for Dawsey <Michiel Huisman> will change the course of her life forever.
The plane will be parked at stand 23 at Guernsey Airport between 10am and 1pm during Liberation Day. Parking will be at the terminal car park.
