Joint statement on behalf of the States of Guernsey and Aurigny

A States of Guernsey Spokesman said:
"The States of Guernsey and Aurigny have discussed the need for facemasks to be worn on flights in order to meet Public Health guidance for air travel into the Bailiwick.
We know there's been some initial confusion with mixed messages on whether travellers need to provide their own, or if they would be supplied, and we're sorry about that.
We're pleased to be able to clear that up now: while we would ask passengers to bring their own where possible, for travellers unable to source one, a mask will be provided at the airport. If a passenger chooses to bring their own mask, they are advised to make sure it is a surgical mask. Cloth masks are not appropriate.
In all cases we would ask masks are kept clean and not worn until the passenger is about to board the plane. This will ensure the mask is effective for duration of the journey itself, protecting not just travellers but the Bailiwick as a whole."
