New Blue Islands Guernsey – Liverpool takes off!!
21st May 2019Blue Islands formally launched its inaugural Liverpool flight from Guernsey as the airline establishes a new twice-weekly connection from the Island to the UK’s North West.
Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands said, “Three exciting new routes from Guernsey this year, including our Liverpool service, further demonstrates Blue Islands’ commitment to serving the Channel Islands as we continue to invest in sustainably developing our Channel Islands network.”
To celebrate the first flight, Paul Winfield, Director of Aviation Development at Liverpool John Lennon Airport joined Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands for a presentation next to the Blue Islands ATR 72 aircraft, which was met by traditional water cannon salute on arrival.

Guernsey is another fantastic destination to be served from here, giving the region’s travellers the opportunity to travel to this beautiful Channel Island direct from Liverpool, the North West’s faster easier friendlier airport.”
Karel Harris, MD of Sarnia Hotels said, “I welcome the new routes which are being offered as a very positive step for inbound tourism, particularly providing another link from the North of England. Hopefully these will lead to new visitors discovering Guernsey and the other islands of the Bailiwick.”
Mr Veron continued, “Islanders can now enjoy direct connections to the cultural city of Liverpool, as well as the Lake District and North Wales and offers a lower cost alternative to Aurigny’s Manchester service. What’s more the new route will also be a boost for inbound tourism to Guernsey.”
