Expressions of Interest - Ports Advertising Concession
21st December 2015Guernsey Airport & Guernsey Harbours are inviting tender proposals to operate the advertising concession at the ports. A percentage of the business turnover generated by the Concession which will include a minimum sum will be expected as a Concession fee.
The agreed term of operation will be for 3 (three) years minimum with an extension of 1 year and 1 year annually by mutual agreement and shall commence from 1st January 2017.
Guernsey Airport operates 364 days of the year and the terminal building is open from 0600 until 2100 hours. The terminal provides facilities for passenger check-in, arrivals, and departures and includes duty free facilities, cafés, hire car reception desks, airline customer service desks, airport information desk, retail concessions and conference facilities.
The principal airline operators are Aurigny, Flybe and Blue Islands with year round services linking Guernsey with London Gatwick, London Stansted, Bristol, Birmingham, Exeter, Dinard, Manchester, Southampton, Alderney and Jersey.
In 2014, there were a total of 863,379 passenger movements at the Airport with the monthly totals ranging from 51,843 in January to 91,420 in August.

Guernsey Harbours operates throughout the year and is the facility through which all sea passengers arrive/depart and almost all of the island’s freight is landed. It also operates the largest marinas in the British Isles, providing 1650 berths for local boats and circa 400 dedicated visitor berths.
In 2014, Guernsey Harbours enabled the embarkation and disembarkation of 105,000 cruise passengers, 500,000+ sea passengers (from UK, Jersey, France and the Bailiwick) and provided berths for over 22,000 visiting yachtsmen.

The advertising agreement will give the successful company exclusive and sole rights to erect and display advertisements in the buildings open to the public which currently comprise airport terminal building including departure/arrival walkways, the harbour terminal building, marina facilities and cruise passenger waiting room.
In accordance with Guernsey planning ordinance, advertising must be affixed internally. The successful Concessionaire will be required to provide the display units and all fittings subject to the design and layout being approved by the Airport or the Harbours.
The successful Concessionaire will be expected to reach agreement with regards to the existing light boxes and other assets from the incumbent operator and to pay for the upgrade, replacement, repair and running costs of those assets for the duration of the contract.
