Guernsey Airport 'Website Feedback Survey'
18th August 2015Earlier this year we launched a brand new Guernsey Airport website and alongside this we ran a feedback survey; asking people for their opinions on the new design and whether they felt any improvements could be made.
The survey had a positive response with over 240 people taking part. The results were as follows:
Overall, how well does the Guernsey Airport website meet your needs?
Extremely well 16%, very well 39%, moderately well 20%, not so well 13%, not at all well 9%.
How easy is it to find the information you need on the website?
Extremely easy 19%, very easy 33%, moderately easy 24%, not so easy 12%, not at all easy 9%.
How visually appealing is the Guernsey Airport website?
Extremely appealing 17%, very appealing 27%, moderately appealing 32%, not so appealing 11%, not at all appealing 10%.
What is your usual reason for visiting the Guernsey Airport website?
Arrivals status 91%, departures status 79%, weather information 38%, airline information 14%, terminal information 6%, aerodrome information 5%, transport information 5%, security information 4%, airport contact details 2%.
Other responses were; booking flights, duty free and route availability.
Do you have any other comments about how we can improve our website?
An overwhelming amount of comments related to the weather, for example; "The weather information seems to have gone. Can it be restored please? I found it so useful."
In August we implemented this change, the weather page can now be easily found, either on the homepage or within 'The Airport' menu (blue bar located at the top of the screen). You will find information on temperature, forecasted weather, sea level pressure, relative humidity, air temperature, dew point, mean direction, mean wind speed, 10 min. highest gust and 60 min. highest gust, as well as useful links to the Guernsey/Jersey Met Office and BBC Weather page.
Another popular response was, "be more specific about what liquids can be taken through security". We have now clarified this under 'Passenger Information' (located within the blue bar at the top of the screen) and 'Security'. You will find a section here reading, 'What am I allowed to take through security as part of my hand-luggage?'
This information will clear any confusion with regards to liquid sizes, the requirement to carry liquids within ONE transparent bag, foods that are classified as liquids (honey and butter for example) and even baby milk.
Another common response was "please can you put the date on all arrivals and departures so that we know that it is working properly" and "space out arrivals and departures". Both of these changes have been implemented; the Arrivals & Departures website page is now much clearer, it is easy to distinguish between the different airlines and view when information was last updated.
Overall, we feel that the feedback from the Guernsey Airport website survey was generally positive and helpful. We are always looking at ways to continue to improve our website.
