Aurigny to recruit new board members
15th September 2015Aurigny is looking to recruit a chairman designate and a number of non-executive directors to its board. The airline is wholly owned by the States of Guernsey but operates commercially. Aurigny’s board meets monthly to discuss and shape the airline’s strategy, direction and growth. Its chair, Jon Moulton, has been in post since February 2012 and will step down from the board next year.
Peter O’Donovan, Aurigny’s finance director says: “We are recruiting early so that we have ample time to attract and employ the highest calibre candidates who can give us experience and perspective on our business plans. There are many people across the business world in Guernsey who would have the expertise to be excellent additions to Aurigny’s board and I’d urge anyone interested to apply.”
Both positions are remunerated and candidates can expect the work to entail a commitment of around twenty days per year. Aurigny employs over three hundred people, the majority of whom are based in Guernsey. Its operations and reservations departments are in Alderney, it has a base in Southampton and a Gatwick airport manager. Aurigny operates a diverse fleet of aircraft to eleven destinations including three of London’s airports. Last year, it flew over 556,000 passengers and is on track to exceed that figure in 2015. It is the longest serving airline in the Channel Islands and in 2018 will celebrate fifty years in business.
